A Crazy Cycle You Can’t Seem to Break: How to Break Free

Everyone’s got a crazy cycle they can’t break. For example, a woman finds herself in abusive relationships over and over again. Another example is a man turns to drinking whenever he faces failure at work. It’s never good for both of them, but they keep doing it.

Are you in the same situation? Here’s how you can get out.

Step One: Admit How I Feel About My Family’s Effect on Me

Our family is our source of our emotional, physical and psychological well being. When the family constantly experiences conflict and abuse, the children develop the idea that this pattern is normal.

If you want to know the effect of your family, consider answering the following questions:

a. What self-doubts do you have at the moment?
b. How was your relationship with your father?
c. How was your childhood experience (e.g., your roles, your relationships, the way you were treated)?

Unresolved family problems lead to many major life conflicts. Divorce, death in the family, abuse, and other conflicts can impact a child as they grow up. If you’ve experienced such conflict, you might experience the following emotions:

  • Anxiety and Frustration
  • Anger and resentment
  • Denial
  • Lack of empathy and understanding
  • Confusion
  • Shame
  • Guilt

Step Two: Admit my Distorted View of my Self-confidence

These problems in the family combined with conflicts with our other social circles may have distorted our view of our selves.

Since we don’t know what real self- confidence is like, we draw inspiration from the world. In today’s society, confident people are those who OWN IT. It doesn’t matter what IT is; it could be a social circle, wealth, or relationships. If you own it, you go and get it.

But that’s not what self-confidence is. We need to admit that we don’t always know these truths. Instead, we need to return to our authentic self. Who are we really?

Step Three: Admit My Powerlessness to get out of my Crazy Cycle

The world tells us we can beat our cycles on our own. Sadly, the very same world feeds our addictions. We don’t always have the power to say “No!” to things that harm us. We are often defeated.

So what do we do?

Here are four truths to keep in mind:

#Truth 1: God loves you and desired that you have the eternal life with Him and have an abundant and meaningful life with him

#Truth 2: Man has a sin problem that separates us from God. Everyone has sinned. The penalty of that sin is our death — physically and spiritually. Wrong truths about salvation results in us putting our confidence in religion and good works. But they’re not enough.

#Truth 3: Jesus Christ is GOD’s only way to eternal life. His resurrection proves that He is the son of GOD the messiah the only Savior

It says so in the Bible:

Jesus said I am the say, the truth, and the life, no one goes to the father except by me
John 14:6

#Truth 4: We must place our faith in JESUS CHRIST to save us. The true source of confidence is our eternal salvation through our faith in JESUS. Consider the following equation:

Faith in Jesus + good works will not earn your salvation = no real confidence

Versus

Faith in Jesus and do nothing from us = salvation (Extraordinary Confidence) helps us get out of crazy cycle and that’s when we are able to do good works

Conclusion

How do we show our faith in Jesus to achieve this extraordinary confidence? Follow the three steps below:

  1. Being willing to turn away from sin
  2. Trusting Jesus for your forgiveness
  3. Accepting His gift of eternal life through prayer

Would you like to see this change in your life? Start with this prayer:

Dear Jesus,

Forgive me because I am a sinner. I lived my life having the distorted view of my confidence, trying to control everything on my own. I was too focused on living my life in crazy cycle of coping skills that I forgot about You. I forgot about the reality and truth about my source of EXTRA ORDINARY CONFIDENCE Please forgive me.

Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. Your sacrifice has allowed me to let go of the temporary things that I thought would enable me to live up to my potential. But now I recognize that only in You can I be all that You intended me to be, for Your glory. I now surrender everything I have to You. Be the Lord of my life. Use me and the talents You gave me for Your greater purpose. Help me Jesus to move from this point onwards and live my live according to your will.

In Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen.

If you have prayed this prayer, congratulations on your decision to follow Jesus! I am excited to learn how He will work in Your life and shape you to become an EXTRAORIDINARILY CONFIDENT person.
